David Wright Workshop (1/5)

On Saturday, April 7th, RWS hosted Windsor chair great, David Wright
The workshop drew approximately 30 attendees
David started with the plan for the day, completely build a chair
His key point was the need for the proper, straight grained wood
David selects locally harvested, freshly cut logs
A few of the tools of the trade
Proper selection and careful processing are critical
David demonstrates controlled splitting with a froh
Once the arm stock is prepared, the design is drawn by hand
The arm is shaped on the horse with a drawknife
Finishing is done with a spokeshave
