| The Sunday hands on workshop with George Hatfield
The workshop was held at the Woodcraft Store in Rochester
The bulk of the day was focused on the skew chisel
After learning smoothing with skew, we learned to cut beads

| Proper hands position is key to controlling the skew
George demo'd each step then we all practiced that step
There was one student to a lathe, limiting attendance to 7...
with first come, first served for registration in the workshop

| Between 9 and 5, we stopped turning only for George's demos
Everyone had plenty of personal attention...
as George "hovered" from lathe to lathe...
while we all practiced each segments instruction

| George covered proper hand positions for each type of cut...
as well as tool orientation and position at the end of the cut
Every cut had a proper start...
and flow through the cut...

| to a finish position
George is a great teacher with many years of teaching experience
Jim Hotaling was George's host while he was in Rochester
Even with great instruction, we all had some "oops"

| The culmination of the day, designing a leg using everything learned
Not only all the pieces, but the proper cutting sequence
Five PM came to quickly and we had to call it a day
Everyone pitching in to clean up after a great day
