Click on thumbnail for full size image

The Introduction to Woodturning class was held at Woodcraft

The instructor was Ralph Mosher

The workshop was for very beginners to advanced beginners

We had a good turnout with 14 attendees

After the presentation materials, it was right to the lathes

Ralph would explain what he was going to do...

and then demonstrate it

With a small class, everyone could get up close and watch

Lunching on DiBella's subs, the official sub of the RWS

After lunch, Ralph moved into sharpening, techniques, and tools

Ralph demonstrated the proper setup and technique

Tools needing sharpening were passed around...

so they could be contrasted with properly sharpened tools

Everyone got a chance to do some sharpening

Jim Echter joined us to teach the spindle turning section

Jim brought his famous skew teaching aid
