A Note About LOCAL Workshops

We hope the national and local workshops will provide just the kind of experiences you need to build your woodworking skills. All workshops are a wonderful benefit of being an RWS member, and all require RWS membership.

Some Local Workshops may be in person events and some may be provided via Zoom.
All Local Workshops are at the discretion of the instructor based on available space,  internet network parameters and Covid  safety concerns.

You can register by clicking on the relevant event in the list of UPCOMING EVENTS to the right.

HAND TOOL Workshops - You can register by selecting from the list above right.

The hand tool workshops are a series of four Saturday workshops over the course of four months.  The workshops will focus on various aspects of hand tool woodworking with a particular focus, but not exclusive to hand planes.  Participants are encouraged to bring along an old Stanley hand plane in need of improvement or they can work on an existing hand plane in Alan's shop that needs some attention.  Participants are not required to attend all four workshops, but the sessions follow a progression of added complexity.  Participation in the entire series of workshops will likely be most beneficial.   Added this season (this series of workshops has been offered numerous times in the past) are more recent innovations in sharpening (CBN wheels, Unicorn sharpening) as well as hand saw usage, and combinations of power tool and hand tool selections for added shop efficiency.  Come to share your skills with others and possibly learn some new skills.
